DVF Art Services Fall 2011 Newsletter

Dear Friends:

Life has been very exciting for me and my associates for the last year. As you may remember, I wear two hats within the art world and both activities are wonderful. I am lucky enough to have the two following concurrent careers which keep me busy and delighted.

I am the fair director of arteaméricas, an international art fair held here in Miami. This fair is in its 10th year and it takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center in March every year. It is a boutique fair dedicated to art from Latin America and the Caribbean. As the director for the last three years, I have had the pleasure and the challenge of ensuring the quality and impact of this important event within the South Florida art scene.

I direct an appraisal firm that specializes in fine art and personal property. The last year has brought me some exceptional clients, including a huge appraisal of the collection of the Inter-American Development Bank (I.D.B.) in Washington D.C., the collection of the Frost Art Museum at Florida International University, many charitable donation appraisals for the Lowe Art Museum of the University of Miami, as well as many corporate and private clients in this area and Latin America. Busy year!!

I am fortunate to have so many extraordinary things to report, and, as the season opens of 2011-2012, I know that it will be GREAT. I would love to hear from you all if you have questions about the art fair or about appraisals. We look forward to hearing from you.

Dora Valdés-Fauli
Fair Director, arteaméricas
